Beaches

  • House-Beach

    There are two house beaches in the immediate vicinity of Villa Las Amapolas: Cala Del Aceite and Cala del Puntalejo. They are around 600 metres away and can be easily reached on foot or by bike via narrow paths in just 5 to 10 minutes.
    The enchanting Cala de Aceite bay is located close to a campsite. This beach on the Costa de la Luz stretches for around 450 metres and is around 25 metres wide.
    The small sandy bay is framed by a steep coastline and offers turquoise-coloured water that provides protection from too much wind. A high plateau with low-growing pine trees stretches above and is criss-crossed by a network of paths. The front corner near the beach is reserved for cars, from where a small staircase leads down to the beach. A chiringuito serves cool drinks right on the beach, and the port of Conil is just a few metres away. The hinterland consists of vast pine forests and farmland.
    Fine golden sand and moderate waves await you on the beach. Toilets and showers are available to wash the sandy grains off your skin. Litter bins and a cleaning service ensure cleanliness and a pleasant bathing experience.
    Cala del Puntalejo is a picturesque beach with fine golden sand and crystal-clear water, surrounded by impressive yellow-tinted cliffs. A fascinating feature is a World War II bunker built into the cliff, offering an interesting mix of landscape and history. Despite its popularity, the bay is not usually crowded, making it an ideal place for a quiet beach experience, especially at sunset.

  • Roche

    The quiet Playa Roche beach is located south-east of the Novo Sancti Petri urbanisation with its numerous golf courses and in front of the Cabo Roche district.
    This beach stretches over a length of 2,200 metres and a width of 40 metres. The special thing about this beach is the first-class quality of the sand, which is bordered by small sand cliffs and dunes. Behind it is a peaceful landscape of residential resorts, detached houses and villas surrounded by extensive pine forests. Some facilities and services are open to the public.
    The golden sand of Playa Roche stretches along the sun-kissed coast, where moderate waves break gently. Grasses, rushes and wild herbs adorn the dunes, gradually transforming them into solid land. The beach has been awarded the Blue Flag for its service and environmental quality.
    Along the southern part of this beach are five coves, known as Cava de Roche, which are a special feature that can only be found in the Algarve.

  • Fuente de Gallo

    The long and narrow sandy beach of Fuente del Gallo stretches out at the foot of a sandy cliff. This urban beach is part of the Costa de la Luz and is located in the municipality of Conil de la Frontera in the Andalusian province of Cádiz. It stretches over a length of around 1,000 metres and is 25 metres wide.
    As a popular beach in the immediate vicinity of the residential area, Fuente del Gallo is particularly popular in the summer months. Both holidaymakers and locals appreciate this beach, which is also very popular with windsurfers, who are increasingly being replaced by kitesurfers. The only disadvantage is that the already narrow beach almost completely disappears at high tide.
    On most occasions, however, visitors can enjoy the fine golden sand and moderate waves. The beach is easy to reach on foot or by car, which further increases its popularity. There is a green strip between the built-up area and the cliff, which is ideal for walking.
    There is a designated surfing zone for surfers, while swimmers and bathers use other beach areas. Toilets and litter bins are available to keep the beach clean and tidy. Along the steep shore there are numerous middle-class accommodations, restaurants, bars and shops. In the shallower part of the beach, you can also buy drinks directly on the beach.

    Playa La Fontanilla stretches from Conil de la Frontera to the bays of Cabo Roche and offers ideal conditions for windsurfing as well as a wide range of services.
    This sandy beach on the Costa de la Luz in the Andalusian province of Cádiz is around 1,200 metres long and 40 metres wide.
    With its long and shallow stretch, La Fontanilla not only offers ideal conditions for swimming, but also plenty of space for beach cafés and restaurants. A narrow strip of vegetation separates it from the built-up area. It is particularly beautiful to stroll along the promenade in the evening when the sea glows in warm colours ranging from red-gold to orange.
    La Fontanilla beach has been awarded the Q”” quality mark, which speaks for its high quality. Visitors will find golden, fine sand and moderate waves here.     Cape Trafalgar in Barbate on the Costa de la Luz is home to the historic Caños de Meca / Faro de Trafalgar beach. This sandy beach in the Andalusian province of Cádiz stretches for around 2,700 metres in length and 40 metres in width.
    The beach is not only steeped in history, but also picturesquely beautiful. Dunes form impressive shapes that are moulded and tousled by the wind. Some of these dunes are overgrown with pine trees and other beach plants, giving the beach a unique beauty. Both the beach and the lighthouse are protected as national monuments.
    Along the beach of Caños de Meca are the white houses of Los Caños de Meca, where there is also a campsite. Behind the village rises a spectacular cliff of sand dunes that is well worth a visit. When you have had enough of the beach or are looking for shelter from the sun, you can continue hiking in the extensive Pinar de Barbate pine forest.
    Caños de Meca beach offers a Caribbean feel with fine golden sand and a variety of vegetation along the edge. The clear and transparent water is ideal for swimming, while the moderate waves also allow nudists to enjoy an undisturbed holiday.

  • Tarifa

    Playa Bolonia in Tarifa is a stunning beach on the Costa de la Luz, known for its Roman village, huge dune and views of Africa. The beach is characterised by fine white sand and a sheltered location and is considered by many tourists to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Spain. With a length of 3.8 kilometres, it is never crowded even in summer and is located in the El Estrecho Natural Park (Parque Natural del Estrecho).
    Although Playa Bolonia is part of the popular holiday resort of Tarifa, the town centre is around 23 km away. Near the beach there are also other beautiful beaches such as Playa del Cañuelo, Playa de los Alemanes and Playa de Valdevaqueros.
    The beach offers showers, toilets and a team of lifeguards to ensure the safety of bathers. Sunshades and sunbeds can also be hired at Playa Bolonia, and naturists can move freely on the eastern section of the beach.
    Along the beach are the small holiday villages of Bolonia and El Lentiscal, which offer everything you need for a relaxing beach holiday. Despite its popularity, there is still no sign of mass tourism here. A particular highlight in Bolonia is the well-preserved Roman settlement of Baelo Claudia, which is well worth a visit.

Accommodation prices for the year 2024

  • The minimum stay is 7 nights
  • The rental period is from Saturday to Saturday. Other arrival times on request
  • Smoking is not permitted at Las Amapolas!
  • The costs for the central heating (December to February) are calculated separately according to consumption and offset against the deposit payment.

The following prices are weekly prices. On request, we also rent Las Amapolas by the month or for the whole winter – prices here on request!

Deposit

We take a deposit of 500 euros, which is to be paid together with the balance of the reservation. In case of abandonment of the house according to the owner’s expectations, the deposit will be refunded within 14 days after leaving Las Amapolas.

Cancellation & payment conditions

The reservation is considered valid upon receipt of a deposit of 50% of the total rental price. The balance must be paid 6 weeks prior to arrival. If the booking is cancelled within 6 weeks prior to arrival, the full amount must be paid immediately. In the event of cancellation more than 8 weeks before arrival, 30% of the deposit received will be refunded. In the event of cancellation within 8 weeks prior to arrival, no refund will be made. We therefore strongly recommend that you take out appropriate travel insurance.
